Bangladesh to host Pakistan for Tests and ODIs after the World Cup
Pakistan have a packed schedule in 2026, as they enter the business end of their World Test Championship (WTC) campaign and begin preparations for the ICC ODI World Cup next year. Adding to their busy calendar, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced that it will host Pakistan for a three-match ODI series, followed by two Test matches.
Bangladesh vs Pakistan series Schedule
The ODI series will be played from March 12 to March 16 in Bangladesh, after which the tour will be put on hold for the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The team will then return for two Test matches in May, shortly after the conclusion of the PSL, which will run from March 26 to May 3.
This will be Pakistan’s first away red-ball series against Bangladesh since 2019-20. The last time the two teams played the longest format, Bangladesh made history by winning 2-0, marking their first series victory against Pakistan.
Tentatively, the two Tests are scheduled to be played on May 8 and May 16.
Plenty of Test cricket
Having played only two Tests in the Championship so far, Pakistan are scheduled to play nine Test matches this year, including the recently added two-match red-ball series. Following the Bangladesh tour, their next red-ball assignment will be a two-Test series in the West Indies in July-August, followed by a three-match red-ball tour of England in August-September. Sri Lanka will then visit Pakistan for a two-Test series in November.
In addition to Pakistan, Bangladesh will also host New Zealand, Australia, and India. The three teams will play full white-ball series in the country, with each side playing three ODIs and as many T20Is. Bangladesh will also play two Test matches against the West Indies in October-November as part of their WTC campaign.
