Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakaravarthy Maintain Career-Best No. 2 Rankings in Latest ICC T20I Rankings

Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakaravarthy have held on to their career-best second positions in the latest ICC T20I rankings for batters and bowlers. Hardik Pandya remains the top all-rounder with 252 points, ahead of Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee (233) and Australia’s Marcus Stoinis (210). Tilak Varma and India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav are ranked fourth and fifth, respectively, in the list released on Wednesday.

Australia's Travis Head is leading the batting rankings with 856 points, while England's Phil Salt is in third place with 815 points. Abhishek has 829 points, Varma has 804 and Suryakumar 739 points.

West Indies' Akeal Hosein is leading the bowling rankings with 707 points. Close behind him is India's Varun Chakaravarthy with 706 points. England's leg-spinner Adil Rashid is in third place with 705 points, followed by Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga with 700 points and Australia's Adam Zampa with 694 points. India's Ravi Bishnoi is ranked sixth with 674 points, while left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh is in ninth place with 653 points.

The Indian team hasn't played any matches since the home series against England in January-February, so there hasn't been much happening with the Indian players lately.

New Zealand's openers Tim Seifert and Finn Allen, along with new-ball bowler Jacob Duffy, have climbed up the player rankings after playing key roles in their team's 2-0 lead over Pakistan in the five-match T20I series.

Seifert and Allen gave New Zealand a strong start in both matches, especially in the second game in Dunedin. They built a quick 66-run partnership, with seven of the first eight scoring shots being sixes. New Zealand easily chased down the target of 136, winning by five wickets with 11 balls to spare.

In the latest weekly rankings, several players made good progress. New Zealand's Ish Sodhi moved up two spots to 36th, while Ben Sears climbed 22 places to 67th. Zakary Foulkes also made a big jump, rising 41 places to 90th. Pakistan's Haris Rauf improved as well, moving up four spots to 26th.

Sifert has climbed 20 spots to reach 13th place after scoring 44 runs from 29 balls in the first match in Christchurch and 45 runs from 22 balls in the second. Allen has moved up eight places to 18th after scoring an unbeaten 29 from 17 balls and 38 from 16 balls.

Duffy has had a great start, taking six wickets in two matches. His best performance came in the first match, where he took 4 for 14, helping New Zealand win easily by nine wickets with nearly 10 overs to spare. His strong showing has pushed him up 23 spots to a career-best 12th place in the rankings.
