As of 2025, Basant Regmi is a 39-year-old Nepalese former international all-rounder who most notably represented the Nepal national team between 2006 and 2019. Nicknamed "Crisis Man" by fans and teammates, he is renowned for his effective left-arm orthodox spin bowling, which he developed after a motorbike accident forced him to abandon his initial career as a fast bowler.
