Zimbabwe Announces Strong Squad for T20I Tri-Nation Series in Pakistan 2025

On Monday, November 10, Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) announced the squad for the Zimbabwe national team for the upcoming T20I tri-nation series in Pakistan. The team has faced a big setback ahead of the series, as their leading fast bowler, Blessing Muzarabani, will not be able to join the tour to Pakistan.
Pakistan are all set to host the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team and the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team in a tri-nation series that will help the sides prepare for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.
The series is very important for the Chevrons, so the selection committee has chosen a strong 15-player squad for the T20I matches against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Zimbabwe Squad Announced for T20I Tri-Nation Series in Pakistan
Originally, the tri-nation series was supposed to feature Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka. But at the last minute, Afghanistan pulled out due to rising cross-border tensions with Pakistan, giving Zimbabwe, the Chevrons, a spot in the tournament. The Chevrons will be captained by Sikandar Raza for the T20Is.
Their squad also includes key players like Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Tony Munyonga, Tashinga Musekiwa, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, and Brendan Taylor. However, one big name that will not be part of the series is the premier pacer Blessing Muzarabani. He has been ruled out of the series due to a back injury, and he has been replaced by Newman Nyamhuri in the squad.
The Chevrons will start their series against Pakistan in Rawalpindi on 17 November, then play Sri Lanka on 19 November. After that, they face Pakistan again on 23 November and Sri Lanka on 25 November in Lahore. If they finish in the top two, they will play the final on 29 November in Lahore.

Sean Williams Steps Away from Cricket, Enters Rehab Amid Disciplinary Concerns
Recently, a big development happened in Zimbabwe as 39-year-old cricketer Sean Williams, who had a very successful career, has stepped away from cricket. He has joined a rehabilitation program for drug addiction and has withdrawn from the T20I team before the World Cup Africa Qualifier series in Harare.
"After careful consideration, ZC has concluded that Williams will no longer be considered for national selection. ZC expects all contracted players to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline and compliance with team protocols and anti-doping regulations," ZC said.
"A review of Williams' record indicates a history of disciplinary issues and repeated unavailability, which has impacted team preparations and performance. While ZC commends him for seeking rehabilitation, withdrawal from team commitments under circumstances involving potential testing raises serious concerns regarding professional and ethical standards." ZC added.
