Yuvraj Singh: People Ignored Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's Past Achievements
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, are being blamed a lot because India didn't do well in the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. They haven't been played well. Virat score a hundred runs in the Perth Test but even then, people are questioning if he should be part of the group since he has not been playing very well overall.
Yuvraj Singh, a former star of the Indian cricket team, defended them while he was in Dubai launching the Tennis Ball Cricket Premier League. Speaking to PTI, Yuvraj said it's unfair how quickly people overlook all the amazing things Rohit and Virat have done in their careers.
Yuvraj noted how India did really well in cricket over the past five to six years. He said that India winning series in Australia one by one was extremely impressive. Despite India's recent loss in the World Test Championship final against Australia in Sydney, where they took back the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after 10 years, Yuvraj still believes in the team.
He pointed out how Rohit and Virat are some of the top cricket players today. Yuvraj thinks the team will recover from this setback. Also, he feels that the criticism of the team, especially Rohit and Virat, might not be fair since they're likely more sad about losing than other people.
Yuvraj spoke up about Rohit Sharma choosing not to play in the fifth Test match. He thought it was of significant consequence because captains usually don't sit out just because they're not performing well. Yuvraj really admired Rohit for thinking of the team first rather than himself. Despite what took place in Australia, Yuvraj still thinks Rohit is an amazing leader, considering he's taken India to a World Cup final, and even helped them win the T20 World Cup.
Yuvraj believes that the defeat to New Zealand is more than the loss to Australia. He thinks it's easier to accept losing to Australia since they've been very strong over the years but getting beaten 0-3 at home by New Zealand should really make India think.

Yuvraj was upset in the dressing room because of his team's performance, but he doesn't interfere with the decision-making. He thinks it's much harder to support teammates when they're struggling compared to just making fun of them when they're not doing well. He was saying, it's the media's job to attack but he's apparently concentrated on some of the best interests in mind of his peers and friends in cricket. About holding by Rohit and Virat, Yuvraj said they're more to him than just persons he plays with they're really like his cricket family.
