World Test Championship 2025-27: Latest Points Table After NZ vs WI 1st Test

Although still early in its development, the 2025 to 2027 World Test Championship (WTC) is full of activity and excitement. The Championship began with India's Tour of England, which was a very competitive series, resulting in a 2-2 draw. After that, India had an impressive victory in their first match of the home season against the West Indies, winning by an innings and 140 runs. In Delhi, India completed the series with three consecutive victories, each by way of clean sweeps.

However, the Gautam Gambhir-coached side got a reality check after getting a 2-0 whitewash after 25 years against South Africa. Meanwhile, Australia is still on top with four out of four wins, while two teams are yet to open their account. During South Africa’s tour of Pakistan, the series ended in a 1-1 draw. After a loss in Lahore, the Proteas fought back to win in Rawalpindi, thanks to a brilliant 98-run partnership for the 10th wicket.

Later, the Temba Bavuma-led team displayed their dominance by comfortably beating India in Kolkata and Guwahati. The Ashes at the end of the year will be a deciding factor as well. Meanwhile, the current WTC champions, South Africa, just had a superb whitewash win over India (2-0).
