Axar Patel Ruled Out of IND vs SA T20I Series Due to Illness, Washington Sundar Likely Replacement

India suffered a setback as Axar Patel has been ruled out of the rest of the IND vs SA T20I series. The all-rounder played the first two matches in Cuttack and Mullanpur but did not take part in the third T20I in Dharamsala on Sunday.
The Men in Blue have taken a 2-1 lead in the five-match series after bouncing back with a 7-wicket win in the IND vs SA 3rd T20I following a loss in the 2nd T20I. According to the Sports Tak reports, Axar has been ruled out of the remainder of the IND vs SA T20Is due to illness. In fact, he was replaced in the playing XI by Kuldeep Yadav in the playing XI for the IND vs SA 3rd T20i for the same reason. The report states that the BCCI and the selectors are yet to name a replacement for Patel.
Axar Patel scored 23 and 21 runs with the bat and took 2/7 and 1/27 with the ball in the series. He was sent to bat at number 3 in the second T20I but failed, and India lost that match by 51 runs. Washington Sundar may replace Axar in the team. Jasprit Bumrah’s availability is also doubtful. He missed the third T20I due to personal reasons, and there is no official update yet on whether he will play the fourth T20I.
