Watch: Tim David Stole Virat Kohli’s Bat in Hilarious Post-Match Prank
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli once again made chasing look simple, staying unbeaten on 62 off 45 balls against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 13. RCB cruised to a nine-wicket win at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur marking their fourth victory in six matches this season. After the game, the mood in the RCB dressing room was light-hearted Tim David pulled a playful prank on Kohli by hiding one of his bats, leaving everyone in splits.
"Where is my bat?" Virat Kohli asked as he opened his kit bag, clearly puzzled.
"I want to see how long it takes Virat to realise we've taken one of his bats," Tim David said with a cheeky grin just before Kohli started searching.
"I counted my bats yesterday — it was seven. Now it’s... six," Kohli noted, already onto the trick.
But he didn’t take long to solve the mystery. Walking straight to Tim David’s kit, he opened it and pulled out his missing bat.
"I didn’t take it, I just borrowed it," David laughed as the room burst into chuckles. Kohli, with a smile and a playful shake of the head, put the bat back where it belonged.
Tim later explained, "Virat was batting so well, we thought we’d test how long it would take him to notice one of his bats was missing. He didn’t! He was too happy with himself after the win. So I had to give it back."
Phil Salt, Kohli’s batting partner and the Player of the Match, added, "I think Tim thought Virat would just laugh it off. He did—but he also figured it out way too quickly!"

Kohli’s Classy 62* Powers RCB to Massive Win Over RR
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) got off to a flying start in their chase of 174, thanks to an explosive powerplay by Phil Salt. He made the most of two dropped chances by Rajasthan Royals, helping RCB race to 65/0 after six overs. Salt and Virat Kohli stitched a solid 92-run opening stand in just 52 balls before Salt was dismissed by left-arm spinner Kumar Kartikeya.
Kohli, looking calm and in control, carried on with Devdutt Padikkal, and the duo added an unbeaten 83-run partnership to seal a dominant nine-wicket win with 15 balls to spare. Padikkal stayed unbeaten on 40 off 28 balls, while Kohli anchored the chase with a classy 62* off 45, including four boundaries and two sixes.
With this knock, the 36-year-old Kohli also entered the Orange Cap race, climbing to fifth place with 248 runs in six matches at an average of 62 — his tally now includes three half-centuries.
