Virat Kohli is the only option for RCB's captaincy choice: AB de Villiers

The South African legendary cricketer AB de Villiers believes that Virat Kohli is the best choice for the captain role of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2025 season. AB de Villiers also played for the RCB in the past, praising Kohli's leadership skills and his ability to motivate the team in their camp for the first IPL title. 

The RCB released their former captain Faf du Plessis before the IPL mega auction. The Delhi Capitals bought him for 2 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Now the RCB team is looking for a new captain for the team to lead in the IPL 2025. In the mega auction RCB management is strengthening their squad in a specific area. The main question is now who will lead the team that remains crucial. 

In a recent YouTube video, AB de Villiers shared his opinion that Virat's vast experience and strong leadership skills are the main reasons why he should be the captain again for the RCB team.

"Friends, I think Virat Kohli is the only option for RCB’s captaincy choice. He is near the end of his career, more inspired than ever before. Till the time he gets the form, and score runs, we are used to watching him play match-winning innings. It’s like a swansong,"

Kohli’s Leadership and 2016 Heroics Spark Hope for a Comeback

In the previous IPL seasons, Kohli led the RCB from 2013 to 2021 and Virat took the team to the final in the 20216 seasons with excellent leadership skills and amazing batting throughout the season in that 2016 season he scored four centuries. Even though with a remarkable IPL career he stepped down from the captain role in 2021, the RCB fans and experts are excited about the idea of Virat returning as captain for the RCB.

De Villiers shared that, this is the chance for Kohli to achieve a fairytale ending with the RCB franchise he has been loyal for RCB over a decade. For the RCB, taking Kohli back as captain could reignite their hopes of finally winning the IPL trophy.
