Vaibhav Suryavanshi Honoured by Bihar CM with ₹10 Lakh After Record-Breaking IPL Knock

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Honoured by Bihar CM with ₹10 Lakh After Record-Breaking IPL KnockVaibhav Suryavanshi has become the talk of the cricketing world after his explosive century in Jaipur. At just 14 years old, he smashed a 35-ball hundred against Gujarat Titans, making him the youngest-ever player to score a century in both T20 and IPL history. It’s also the second-fastest IPL hundred ever and the quickest by an Indian.

His incredible knock left fans and legends stunned. Rajasthan Royals coach Rahul Dravid, despite having a fractured leg, leapt off his seat in excitement. Even Sachin Tendulkar, who knows a thing or two about rising young, showered praise on the teenage sensation.

A New Era Begins: 14-Year-Old Rewrites T20 History

After Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s record-breaking century against Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced a ₹10 lakh reward for the 14-year-old. Facing a seasoned GT bowling attack stacked with international experience, Suryavanshi’s brilliant knock has already gone down as one of the most unforgettable moments in T20 history.

“Big congratulations to Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Bihar — just 14 years old and already making history as the youngest player to score a century in the IPL! His dedication and talent are truly inspiring, and he’s become a new ray of hope for Indian cricket. I had the pleasure of meeting Vaibhav and his father last year at 1 Anne Marg, and I had wished him a bright future then — today, I’m so proud to see him shine. I also called him after his incredible knock to personally congratulate him. The Bihar government will be awarding him Rs 10 lakh as a token of appreciation. I hope he continues to break records and make the country proud,” wrote Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on X (formerly Twitter).
