Uncertainty looms over Pakistan vs Bangladesh series amid regional tension
Pakistan are due to tour Bangladesh for a three-match ODI series, which begins on March 11, ahead of the Pakistan Super League. The tour is divided into two parts, with the two Test matches set to be played after the PSL ends.
The tour could be postponed
According to the itinerary, the team is scheduled to land in Bangladesh on March 9, with the first game set for March 11 in Dhaka, where the other two matches will also be played. However, the tour is in limbo as regional tensions have escalated.
While the Pakistan Cricket Board has not hinted at any delay, the tour could face postponement if the situation continues to worsen.
Pakistan's men’s team reached Lahore on March 1, a day after they were knocked out of the tournament, with New Zealand progressing to the semi-finals with a superior NRR. This was the fourth consecutive ICC event in which the side crashed out before reaching the semi-final.
Women’s team awaits resumption of flights
Additionally, the Pakistan women's team, who finished their white-ball tour of South Africa on Sunday, are also stuck in the country, with the airspace of several countries closed. Reportedly, the team is awaiting official confirmation regarding the reopening of airspace to return home.
