Before IPL 2026, all franchises are now gradually completing their preparations. Ahead of the upcoming season, bids will be placed on several players, while some players may be overlooked. In the IPL 2025 auction, SRH included Ishan Kishan in their squad, but he couldn't make a big impact. However, even after that, three franchises are eagerly chasing him for a trade.

Ishan Kishan in Demand, Mumbai Indians Want Him Back

According to The Times of India, Ishan Kishan is getting attention from several IPL teams. Mumbai Indians (MI), who have won the IPL five times, are leading the race to sign him again. MI has made a move, but no deal has been done yet.

"Ishan Kishan is attracting a lot of interest from franchises, and five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) are learnt to be leading the race to bring the destructive southpaw home. It is understood that there has been an approach from MI for Kisha,n but nothing has materialised at this stage," the report read.

Top IPL Teams Interested in Signing Ishan Kishan

Mumbai Indians parted ways with Ishan Kishan after seven years, releasing him before the IPL 2024 mega-auction. In his time with MI, he played 89 matches, scored 2,325 runs, averaged 29.81, and had a strike rate of 136.85. He hit 15 fifties, with his highest score being 99. Apart from the Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have also shown interest in acquiring Ishan.

All three franchises are exploring a potential trade or all-cash deal with Sunrisers Hyderabad to strengthen their top order with a quality wicketkeeper-batter. However, no concrete progress has been made yet.

"Not just MI, even Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have knocked SRH's door for a potential trade/all-cash deal for the left-hander but there hasn't been any further development on that front," the report added.

Ishan can bat in different positions at the top and also free up a spot for an overseas player. He could be a key player for the team in the long run. Teams might see him as a big investment, but any trade with Sunrisers Hyderabad will depend on talks between the teams.
