Smriti Mandhana Breaks Record as Fastest Indian Woman to Score 4000 ODI Runs in IND vs IRE Match

Smriti Mandhana while playing against IrelandOn Friday, January 10, during the first ODI against Ireland in Rajkot. The Indian star cricketer Smriti Mandhana scored 41 runs and crossed 4,000 runs in the women's ODI's with this Mandhana became the first Indian to reach this historic milestone in under 100 innings

Leading the team in place of the rested Harmanpreet Kaur, Mandhana has scored 4,001 runs in just 95 ODI innings. She is the second Indian, after the legendary Mithali Raj, to achieve this amazing milestone in women’s ODIs.

Mandhana got to 4,000 runs faster than any other Indian and is the third fastest in the world, taking 17 fewer innings than Mithali Raj did. In 2011, Mithali Raj, who had the most runs in women's ODIs at 7,805, needed 112 innings to get to 4,000 runs.

Belinda Clark from Australia was the quickest to hit 4,000 runs in women's ODIs by doing it in 86 innings by 2003. Meanwhile, on that exact day, the Indian women's cricket team broke another record, by getting their highest power-play score ever at home. When they were trying to reach 239 runs, Mandhana and Pratika Rawal gave India a perfect start with a solid 70-run opening partnership.

Fastest to 4,000 Runs in Women's ODIs

Player Country Innings  Year
Belinda Clark Australia 86 2003
Meg Lanning Australia 89 2022
Smriti Mandhana India 95 2025
Laura Wolvaardt South Africa 96 2024
Karen Rolton Australia 103 2007

Pratika did great with her second 50-plus score in her fourth ODI, and even though Mandhana missed a half-century by just nine runs, they both performed well. In the first 10 overs, India equaled their old record at home with 70 runs. Their excellent performance made India secure an easy victory in the first match against Ireland.
