Shreyas Iyer Injury Update: Recovering Well After Spleen Injury, Discharged from Sydney Hospital

Shreyas Iyer Injury Update: Recovering Well After Spleen Injury, Discharged from Sydney HospitalShreyas Iyer is recovering well from his spleen injury and has been discharged from a hospital in Sydney, the Indian Cricket Board said on Saturday, November 1. The middle-order batter was treated for a cut on his spleen and will stay in Sydney for some more check-ups before returning to India once doctors say he is fit to travel.

The BCCI thanked Dr. Kouroush Haghigi and his team in Sydney, along with Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala in India, for giving Iyer the best medical care. The board also shared that Iyer had a small surgery to fix the injury on his spleen.

Shreyas Iyer recovering well after spleen injury, discharged from Sydney hospital

“Shreyas Iyer sustained a blunt injury to his abdomen while fielding during the third ODI against Australia on October 25, 2025, resulting in a laceration of his spleen with internal bleeding. The injury was promptly identified, and the bleeding was immediately arrested following a minor procedure. He has undergone appropriate medical management for the same,” the BCCI said in an official statement.

“He is now stable and recovering well. The BCCI Medical Team, along with specialists in Sydney and India, are pleased with his progress, and he has been discharged from the hospital today,” the statement added.

“The BCCI extends its heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Kouroush Haghigi and his team in Sydney, along with Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala in India, for ensuring Shreyas received the best possible care for his injury.” BCCI added.

India captain Suryakumar Yadav earlier gave an update on Shreyas’ condition. He said Shreyas was doing well and replying to messages from his teammates.
