Shaheen Afridi to Make His Debut in Bangladesh Premier League

Pakistan star fast pacer, Shaheen Afridi is set to play for Fortune Barishal in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for the first time. The BPL's 11th season is starting on December 30. The Fortune Barishal are the defending champions in BPL. Fortune Barishal will play their first match against Durbar Rajshahi at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The Durbar Rajshahi was a newly added franchise in BPL.

"Shaheen Shah Afridi, the talented left-arm pacer from Pakistan, will represent Fortune Barishal in the upcoming BPL," announced the franchise in an official statement.

Shaheen Afridi to Play First Five Matches for Fortune Barishal

Currently, Shaheen Afridi is playing for Pakistan in a three-game ODI series against South Africa. Pakistan achieved a thrilling victory by three wickets, thanks to Saim Ayub who did very well with a great 100 runs. In the first match, Afridi did well by taking out Heinrich Klaasen and finishing with stats of 1/46.

Fortune Barishal picked up some talented players for the season. It was a smooth deal to bring Shaheen on board and he's prepared for the first five games until January 15. Because the Pakistan Cricket Board has granted a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) until January 15th only.

Fortune Barishal wasted no time in bringing in Kyle Mayers, Dawid Malan, Mohammad Nabi, Faheem Ashraf, Ali Mohammad, and Jahandad Khan as direct picks. And they added James Fuller, Pathum Nissanka, and Nandre Burger to strengthen their squad.
