Scenarios Explained: What Happens if the RCB vs PBKS Final Is Washed Out Due to Rain?
There’s a big chance of rain during the IPL final between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). AccuWeather says thunderstorms are expected on Tuesday, and the rain might spoil the exciting match.
RCB and PBKS have both waited a long time to win their first IPL title. On June 3, one of these teams will finally achieve that dream. But the other team will face a tough heartbreak, maybe the hardest they’ve ever had. This exciting moment can only happen if the rain stays away.
RCB made it to the final by comfortably beating PBKS by eight wickets, giving them a bit of a mental edge. However, PBKS showed their strength by beating Mumbai Indians strongly and convincingly, making it clear they’re serious contenders.

IPL 2025 Final: What Happens If The Final Is Washed Out?
The umpires will want to make sure the match finishes on June 3. A little bit of rain won’t be a big problem because they will add 120 extra minutes to the game to make up for lost time. But if the rain is heavy and they can’t play at all on Tuesday, there is a backup day planned to complete the match.
If the match can’t be played on the scheduled day or even on the reserve day, then the team that finished higher on the points table will be declared the champions. Punjab Kings ended the league stage at the top, winning nine out of 14 matches. So, if rain stops play on both days, Shreyas Iyer’s team will be crowned champions.
What If A Match Ends In A Tie?
If the match ends in a tie, a Super Over will be played. If the super over is also tied, another one will be played till the time the match has a winner.
