Sanju Samson Injury Update: Ready to Return for Rajasthan Royals’ Final IPL 2025 Matches
RR is already out of contention for the IPL 2025 playoffs, but then the team still has two matches left in the season, and would be playing for pride. It has been a year, which was marked by some strong individual performances, and the rise of 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, but also injury-stricken captain Sanju Samson, who just couldn’t be with the team enough, to take them to much-needed wins.
IPL 2025: Sanju Samson Fit to Play
Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been stuck in ninth place on the IPL 2025 points table and are already out of the playoff race. Things didn’t go their way right from the start. Their captain, Sanju Samson, was coming back from a finger injury and could only play as an impact substitute in the early matches. He eventually played 7 games and scored 224 runs. Just when he was starting to find his rhythm, he got injured again. That second setback made things even harder for the team.
Sanju Samson is set to return for the Rajasthan Royals’ final two matches, according to Sportstar. The IPL resumes on May 17, and Rajasthan will face Punjab Kings in an afternoon game. While Sanju was out, Riyan Parag led the team, but the overall performance wasn’t very impressive.
It’ll be interesting to see where Sanju decides to bat, especially with Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal doing a great job at the top of the order. As for RR’s overseas players, all of them are available for selection. The team has also added Nandre Burger and Lhuan-dre Pretorious to their squad for the remaining matches.
