Salman Ali Agha Receives ICC Warning and Demerit Point After Run-Out Frustration

Salman Ali Agha from Pakistan has been officially warned after an incident with Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz during the second ODI on Friday. Agha broke a Level 1 rule of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Code of Conduct.

The rule is about misusing cricket equipment, clothing, or ground items during an international match. Salman Ali Agha has also received one demerit point for his actions, which is his first offence in the last 24 months.

The incident happened after he was run out in the 39th over of the match. Agha threw his gloves and helmet on the ground in frustration, which was considered inappropriate. Meanwhile, Agha also accepted the charge by ICC match referee Neeyamur Rashid Rahul.

The charge was made by on-field umpires Adrian Holdstock and Tanvir Ahmed, along with third umpire Kumar Dharmasena and fourth umpire Masudur Rahman Mukul.

A Level 1 breach can result in a warning or a fine of up to 50% of the match fee, along with 1 or 2 demerit points. In the match, Pakistan national cricket team defeated Bangladesh national cricket team by a big margin of 128 runs. Youngster Maaz Sadakat went on to score 75, while Agha scored 64. They eventually set a target of 275.

Rishad Hossain picked up three wickets for the home side. In reply, Bangladesh could only manage 114. Litton Das was the top-scorer with 41. Sadakat went on to bag three, and so did Haris Ruaf, to level the series 1-1. The last match of the series will be played in Dhaka on Sunday.
