This isn't good news for KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) to start IPL 2026. Harshit Rana, KKR's young fast bowler, will be unable to participate in IPL 2026 because he has sustained an injury. Harshit Rana sustained a warm-up injury before the T20 World Cup exactly one month ago and has not recovered in time to take part in IPL 2026.

This report comes only a few hours after KKR signed Blessing Muzarabani, a fast bowler out of Zimbabwe. Muzarabani was due to play in the Pakistan Super League for Islamabad United, but lately decided to skip the PSL and play for KKR instead. This is not his first appearance with KKR; he has also played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

It is not known if KKR will send another bowler in place of Harshit Rana. At present, the team has fast bowlers like Vaibhav Arora, Matheesha Pathirana, Kartik Tyagi, Umran Malik, and Akash Deep.

Harshit Rana was a key bowler for KKR in the last few seasons. He took 40 wickets in 34 matches for the team. He had a high strike rate of 16. Now he will work on his fitness so that he can play international cricket after the IPL.
