Saim Ayub Faces Uncertainty Over Champions Trophy Spot Due to Injury

Saim Ayub Faces Uncertainty Over Champions Trophy Spot Due to Injury

On Saturday, Saim Ayub, who plays for Pakistan, had his ankle injury checked by doctors orthopaedic surgeons in London. Yet, we must wait a week to find out if he can play in the ICC Champions Trophy next month.

Dr. David Redfern and Dr. Lucky Jeyaseelan, Who are extremely skilled at fixing bones, recently saw Saim in London. There's an important game coming up in Dubai on February 23 it's the Champions Trophy match against India, and everyone especially the Pakistan Cricket Board, really wants Saim to be completely better and prepared to play.

"Despite the doctors' advice that he may not be fully recovered from his injury in time for Pakistan's first Champions Trophy match against New Zealand on February 19 in Karachi, there is a possibility he could be fit for the India game. Both the selectors and the PCB are prepared to take the risk," said the source.

Despite being told to rest his ankle for six weeks, Saim went to London for a doctor's check up. The PCB really wants him ready for the major tournament coming up, especially for the important game against India. The doctors said he doesn't need surgery, whether it's the kind that involves cutting or not. They're going to tell us their final decision on how Saim can heal better by next week.

"He mentioned that the doctors believe Saim can fully recover from his injury with physiotherapy, medication, and some rest. However, they’ll be able to give a more specific timeline for his rehab after evaluating him again next week".

The PCB decided to add Saim to the early team list for the Champions Trophy. They can still change things and pick the final 15 players by February 12. He’s deciding whether to stay at the PCB’s great center in Lahore or seek more help in London, Saim's going to stay in place in London until next week.
