Rivalry games always bring a pizzazz that makes them special. Lahore Qalandars vs Karachi Kings fixtures are no different. However, their fixture in Lahore would be significant for reasons other than just that. Lahore and Karachi are both grinding to secure the fourth place in the points table. They aren’t the only teams, as Hyderabad Kingsmen and Quetta Gladiators are looking for ways to sneak in among the top four. 

However, this game could significantly shape how things pan out in the playoff race. A win could take Lahore to the number three place, pushing Islamabad United to the fourth spot. This would kill whatever little chances Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings have to proceed to the next stage. 

But if Karachi end up downing Lahore, just as they have done previously in the reverse fixture, the drama in the middle will continue to simmer. 

The game will be played in Lahore, and Karachi will be somewhat relieved by that. They have yet to win a game at their home venue this season. In fact, all five games they have lost were played in Karachi.
