PSL 2025: Alex Carey Ruled Out of PSL 10; Rassie van der Dussen Set to Replace Him

Australia wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey has officially pulled out of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), se t to begin on April 11. Carey was selected by Islamabad United as a replacement for South African star Rassie van der Dussen for part of the tournament. However, he will be unavailable due to his domestic cricket obligations in Australia.

According to The Express Tribune, Islamabad United confirmed that Alex Carey will not be featuring in PSL 2025, ahead of their first game. The team said Carey was withdrawn because of his commitments to domestic cricket at home in Australia.

Islamabad United ki ck off their PSL 2025 campaign against Lahore Qalandars today at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. With Alex Carey pulling out, the Shadab Khan-led side will now be counting on the return of Rassie van der Dussen, as confirmed by the franchise.

Before Carey, former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson was also reportedly set to miss the initial matches of the PSL. Williamson, who was picked up by Karachi Kings after going unsold in the IPL 2025 mega-auction, will be unavailable at the start of the tournament.
