PSL 11 retentions: Multan release all players including Rizwan

PSL 11 retentions: Multan release all players including RizwanMultan Sultans have decided not to retain any player ahead of the player auction on February 11. As a result, the franchise will enter the auction with a full purse.

Multan release all players

The franchise had earlier shortlisted the following players:

Mohammad Rizwan (Platinum), Usama Mir, Iftikhar Ahmed, Usman Khan (all Diamond), Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Hasnain, Faisal Akram, Akif Javed, Tayyab Tahir (all Gold), Yasir Khan, Muhammad Amir Barki, Mohammad Junaid, Humayun Altaf, Ali Imran, Jahanzaib Sultan, Ubaid Shah (all Silver), Shahid Aziz, Mohammad Zulkifal (both Emerging).

All of the above players will now enter the player pool to be bought in the auction.

Change of Multan owners

There were earlier reports that the PCB had formed an independent panel to oversee Multan’s retentions. This development came after the franchise’s previous owner, Ali Tareen, relinquished the ownership rights.

Following that, the PCB had decided to run Multan Sultans in-house for a year and then auction the franchise before the next edition of the PSL. However, after the two new franchises, Hyderabad and Sialkot Stallionz, went for record-breaking prices, the board reversed its decision and invited bids for Sultans’ sale.

Five qualified bidders for Multan

The franchise is expected to be sold ahead of the player auction. The PCB has already shortlisted five qualified bidders. Reportedly, Tareen has also submitted a proposal to bid for the franchise, though it is unclear whether he is among the qualified contenders.
