Pakistan to Host First Ever T20I Tri-Series with Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in November

Pakistan to Host First Ever T20I Tri-Series with Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in NovemberThe Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced a Tri-Nation T20 series featuring Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka, which will be held in Lahore and Rawalpindi from November 17 to 29. In the tournament, each team will play the others twice during the six-match group stage and the top two teams will move on to the final. The final is scheduled for November 29 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium making a total of seven matches in the series.

The tournament will start on November 17 with Pakistan hosting Afghanistan at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Afghanistan will then play Sri Lanka on November 19 also in Rawalpindi. Later, the matches will move to Lahore, where Afghanistan will face Pakistan on November 23 and take on Sri Lanka on November 25 in their last group-stage game.

Pakistan will also welcome South Africa for a two-match Test series as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27, along with three T20Is and three ODIs from October 12 to November 8. PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed Syed said he’s really excited about Pakistan’s first T20I tri-series, calling it a perfect way to get ready for the T20 World Cup and a real treat for the fans.

“We look forward to hosting Sri Lanka and Afghanistan for Pakistan’s maiden T20I tri-series. This event will not only offer excellent preparation for next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, but also present fans with exciting cricket across venues." PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed Syed said.

“Earlier this year, PCB successfully delivered the ICC Champions Trophy and the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier. These achievements underline our capacity and readiness to host back-to-back international events at the highest level.”

Right now, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the UAE are playing another tri-nation series in the UAE to get ready for the upcoming Asia Cup.
