Pakistan fined for slow over rate in second Test against South AfricaPakistan's team fined 25 percent of their match fee because slow over rate in the second test game against South Africa in Cape Town and they also deducted five World Test Championship points.

After losing to South Africa by a large margin of 10 wickets in the second test at Cape Town, Pakistan faced some consequences. They didn't bowl the required number of overs on time, and because of that, the rules from the World Test Championship to apply. For every over Pakistan lost one point from their World Test Championship points table, they lost five points because they missed five overs.

Also, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has strict guidelines ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, each over they did not bowl on time, they get their match fee reduced by five percent. Pakistan got fined as well because they didn't bowl on time.

Shan Masood, the captain of Pakistan, agreed that he did the wrong thing and said he was guilty of the charges. Kumar Dharmasena, Nitin Menon, who were the main umpires on the field, and also Alex Wharf and Stephen Harris, who were the third and fourth umpires, brought up the charges. Then, Richie Richardson is a match referee from the Emirates ICC Elite Panel, decided on the penalties.
