Naseem Shah’s House Attacked in Lower Dir, Pakistan Pacer Stays with Team

Naseem Shah’s House Attacked in Lower Dir, Pakistan Pacer Stays with TeamPakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah has decided to stay with the team for the ODI series against Sri Lanka, even after attackers targeted his family home in Lower Dir. Thankfully, no one in his family was hurt. The Pakistan team relies heavily on their three main fast bowlers, while Abrar Ahmed and Mohammad Nawaz are the only spinners. Saim Ayub has also impressed recently, often sharing the new ball with captain Shaheen Afridi.

Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah are still the key players for Pakistan. Rauf was recently suspended for two matches during the South Africa ODI series after getting four demerit points from the ICC. On Monday morning, ANI reported that Naseem Shah’s family home in Lower Dir was attacked by unknown people who fired at the gate before running away.

Reports said that no one in Naseem Shah’s house was hurt in the attack and the police have started an investigation. It is still unclear who was at home at the time or why the attackers targeted the house. Despite the incident, Naseem has chosen to stay with the Pakistan team for the ODI series against Sri Lanka, which starts today, November 11. The attack happened just a day earlier, on November 10.

Zimbabwe Replaces Afghanistan in T20I Tri-Series

The Sri Lanka home series marks Pakistan’s return to playing in their own country after almost six years. The three ODIs will take place from November 11 to 15, followed by a T20I tri-series that includes Zimbabwe after Afghanistan withdrew. Naseem Shah has been selected for both the ODI and T20I series. This will be Pakistan’s second home series, as the team slowly shifts its focus toward T20 cricket in preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Recently, Pakistan defeated South Africa, the runners-up of the last T20 World Cup, by 2-1 in both the T20I and ODI series. Once the home series ends, Pakistan will travel to Sri Lanka for another series, as Sri Lanka is set to host all of Pakistan’s matches in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026.
