Mohammad Salahuddin Named Bangladesh Men's Team Senior Assistant Coach

Mohammad Salahuddin has been appointed as the senior assistant coach of the Bangladesh men's team by the BCB. His contract will run until March 15 next year, similar to head coach Phil Simmons'. Salahuddin's first task is expected to be the upcoming Bangladesh tour of the West Indies, commencing with a four-day warm-up match in Antigua.

Having previously served as Bangladesh's assistant and fielding coach under Dav Whatmore and Jamie Siddons, Salahuddin brings a wealth of experience to the role. He is recognized for his coaching prowess and has been influential in the development of players like Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal. Despite a sometimes contentious relationship with the BCB in recent years, Salahuddin's expertise and reputation within the cricketing community in Bangladesh remain strong.

BCB president Faruque Ahmed expressed confidence in Salahuddin's capabilities, highlighting his suitability for the position. Salahuddin's appointment signals a positive step towards promoting Bangladeshi coaches in the cricketing landscape.
