Kusal Perera scores the fastest T20 century by a Sri Lankan, surpassing New Zealand
Kusal Perera did great with a stunning score of 101 during Sri Lanka's last T20 game against New Zealand in Nelson. The problem was, Sri Lanka had already lost the series, because New Zealand won the first two matches. They had nothing to lose but Perera was fully committed, showing they wouldn't give up easily. Perera hit the ball, hitting four sixes and 13 fours in just 46 balls, it was an excellent.
This achievement not only threw Sri Lanka to a tough total of 218/5 but also earned Perera the title for scoring the quickest hundred by anyone from Sri Lanka in T20 internationals.

Perera was lucky not to get out when he had scored 15 and then 60, but finally, he was dismissed after making 101 runs. Rachin Ravindra caught him at point off Daryl Mitchell's bowling in the second to last over. During his time playing, he had a solid 41 run partnership with Avishka Fernando, who got 17 runs and out, and an even larger 100 run stand with Charith Asalanka.
Asalanka was scoring 46 runs from just 24 balls and he hit five sixes and one four.
In the series, Sri Lanka went first in batting for the first time and did well at the start, getting 24 runs in only three overs but then, something spectacular happened: Mitchell Hay made an amazing move by running to the boundary, catching a top edge from Pathum Nissanka, tossing it into the air right before crossing the line, and then getting back on the field to finish the catch.
Nissanka had to leave after scoring 14 because of that. Later, Kusal Mendis was performing well with 22 runs off 16 balls until he was caught by Michael Bracewell. Mendis tried to hit a ball from Mitch Santner but ended up getting caught over the shoulder by Bracewell, which meant he had to go back.
