KKR vs LSG IPL 2025 Match Rescheduled After Kolkata Police's Request

The BCCI has announced that Match 19 of IPL 2025 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has been rescheduled. The match, which was earlier set for Sunday, April 6, will now be played on Tuesday, April 8, at 3:30 PM IST.

The match was rescheduled after Kolkata Police asked the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) to provide security across the city because of upcoming festivals.

KKR vs LSG Match Rescheduled to April 8 Due to Festivities

On April 6, there was supposed to be a double-header, with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) playing against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 20 at 7:30 PM IST. This SRH vs GT match will go ahead as planned. Also, on April 8, there will be a double-header. Apart from the KKR vs LSG match in the afternoon in Kolkata, Punjab Kings (PBKS) will play against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match 22 in the evening, as per the original schedule.

The advisory read, “ The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announces the rescheduling of Match No. 19 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), originally scheduled for Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.“

“ The decision follows a request from Kolkata Police to the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) regarding the deployment of personnel across the city owing to festivities. The authorities have recommended that the game be moved to Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 3:30 PM, and the request has been accommodated accordingly. The rest of the schedule remains unchanged.“

“ For clarity, Sunday, April 6, will now be a single-header match day, with Sunrisers Hyderabad hosting Gujarat Titans at 7:30 PM (Match No. 20) as originally scheduled. Tuesday, April 8, will be a double-header match day, featuring the KKR vs. LSG fixture in the afternoon in Kolkata, followed by Punjab Kings hosting Chennai Super Kings (Match No. 22) in New Chandigarh in the evening, as per the original schedule.“

KKR are currently seventh in the IPL 2025 points table with two points from two matches. LSG are second on the table with two points from two matches.
