Jasprit Bumrah To Undergo New Scans On February 2: Report
Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar attended the press conference after the BCCI official meeting to announce the ICC Champions Trophy Squad. They announced the squad and gave an update on Bumrah's injury.
According to the reports from The Times of India, star bowler Jasprit Bumrah will have the scans on February 2 regarding his back injury. This update was given after the chief selector Ajit Agarkar mentioned that Bumrah could be in India's Champions Trophy 2025 squad if Bumrah fully recovers.
“We’re waiting for updates from the physios. As per the information we have, Bumrah was advised to rest from bowling for five weeks. So, we’re looking at mid-February for his return. I don’t want to share incorrect updates, but the BCCI will give an official statement soon. We’re hopeful.” -Ajit said.

Bumrah may not play in the three-match ODI series against England before the Champions Trophy. Agarkar confirmed that in place of Bumrah, the selectors have selected Harshit Rana as a replacement. Harshit Rana was played in the BGT 2024-25 in the first two Tests.
Bumrah was injured during the BGT 2024-25 fifth Test in Sydney. In that match, the injury stopped him from bowling in the last inning, and he went for scans during that Test series. Since then, there's been a lot of rumors about his return. Even one report claimed that he was on bed rest, but Bumrah dismissed that report as false.
One good news for India is that Shami has returned to the ODI squad. Shami's return makes the team India's bowling even more strong. Along with Shami, the left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh was in the squad. Also, the squad has five spinners, these spinners can make an impact on the slow pitches in Dubai.
