Jaipur Likely to Miss RR’s IPL Home Matches as BCCI Asks Rajasthan CA to Conduct Elections First
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a warning to the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) that IPL cricket can return to Jaipur only when the administrative Issues of the state cricket board are set right.
BCCI Makes RCA Elections Mandatory for IPL 2026 Matches in Jaipur
IPL chairman Arun Dhumal, while addressing a select media personage during the IPL auction in Abu Dhabi, reiterated that “We had written to the state association last time around that until and unless they conduct the RCA elections and have an elected body in place, it would be difficult for us to take the IPL to that venue," Arun Dhumal told Cricbuzz.
“As of now, they have not held any elections, and the venue, as such, has to be assessed by the franchise to decide if it is fit enough for them to play matches there. That will be done by us, and if everything goes smoothly for the RCA, we will consider that as a winner," he further stated.
For two years, RCA has been administered by an ad hoc committee formed by a decision of the Rajasthan state government, led by Deen Dayal Kumawat. Although the Rajasthan Royals, nicknamed RR, have called Jaipur their home ground for almost 18 years, this ambiguity has resulted in the team looking for other options.
