Is Pat Cummins Leaving IPL After Becky’s Goodbye to India?
Pat Cummins, the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, is in India for the IPL 2025 along with his wife, Becky Cummins. But things haven’t been going well for his team this season. Under his leadership, Sunrisers Hyderabad has found it tough to get back to the form they showed last year, and now they’re close to being knocked out early.
During Sunrisers Hyderabad’s strong run in the ongoing IPL 2025, Pat Cummins’ wife, Becky, has decided to head back home. She shared a photo from the airport on her Instagram story, standing beside Cummins, and wrote a simple goodbye message to India.

The post suggests that she’s wrapping up her IPL journey earlier than expected, which has led to a lot of questions. Fans are now wondering if the Australian captain, Pat Cummins, is also planning to leave Sunrisers Hyderabad mid-season. But so far, there’s no clear word on whether Cummins will be heading home with her or staying on in India to continue leading SRH in IPL 2025.
SRH Fall to Fifth Defeat as MI Cruise to Win
Sunrisers Hyderabad faced their fifth loss in IPL 2025 after going down to Mumbai Indians by four wickets on April 17 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Pat Cummins did a great job with the ball, but the team just didn’t put up enough runs, making it tough to defend the total against MI.
Sunrisers Hyderabad put up a total of 162 for 5, with Abhishek Sharma scoring 40 and Heinrich Klaasen adding 37 runs against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. Will Jacks bowled well for MI, picking up 2 wickets for just 14 runs in his 3 overs. In reply, Mumbai chased down the target comfortably in 18.1 overs, securing their third win of the season.
After SRH’s loss to MI, Cummins said in the post-match press conference, “It wasn't the easiest wicket. A few runs short, we would have liked a couple more with the bat. Tricky wicket, when you come here you expect it to be really fluent and fast; it just wasn't that. They bowled really well and shut down a lot of our hitting areas. I thought we had all our bases covered, but with 160, you feel like you are a little bit short.”
The SRH captain said, “We gave it a good crack with the ball. We thought we needed wickets; we had plenty of death bowling; we knew the impact player would bowl 1-2 overs; that's why we went with Rahul. You have got to play well away from home to make the final. Unfortunately, it hasn't clicked so far this season. We have a short break, and we go again.”
