Ireland Announce 15-Player Squads for Bangladesh Tour 2025: Balbirnie and Stirling to Lead

Ireland cricket squad Bangladesh tour 2025Cricket Ireland has announced two 15-player squads for their tour of Bangladesh in November. The tour will include two Test matches and three T20 Internationals. Andrew Balbirnie will captain the Test side, with Cade Carmichael, Liam McCarthy, Jordan Neill and Stephen Doheny all set to make their international debuts.

Cade Carmichael has fully recovered from the concussion he suffered last month playing for Instonians in the All-Ireland T20 Cup. Another uncapped member of the Test squad is Gavin Hoey, who has been selected previously but is yet to make his Test debut. Ireland last toured Bangladesh in 2023 for the first-ever Test encounter between the two nations, which Bangladesh won by seven wickets. Ireland have played 10 Test matches so far and won their last three.

Paul Stirling, who is also in the Test squad, will lead the T20I side as Ireland steps up preparations for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. Tim Tector returns to the T20I squad, while Ben Calitz keeps his place after making his debut in the third T20I against England at Malahide. Frontline bowlers Mark Adair and Josh Little are back in the T20 squad after missing the recent games against England, while Graham Hume has been left out.
