England, led by their young new captain Jacob Bethell, are set to face Paul Stirling’s Ireland in a three-match T20I series starting Wednesday. The first game will be played at The Village in Dublin and begins at 6:00 PM IST.

England have added some fresh faces to the squad for this tour. Wicketkeeper-batter Jordan Cox has been rewarded after an excellent season with the Oval Invincibles in The Hundred, where he scored 367 runs, finished as the top run-scorer, and won the Most Valuable Player award as his team lifted their third straight title. Fast bowler Scott Currie from Hampshire has also earned his first T20I call-up. He comes in for Saqib Mahmood, who misses out on the Ireland series and the upcoming white-ball tour of New Zealand due to a knee injury.

England, meanwhile, are searching for a series win. In the past three months, they drew 2-2 against India in the five-match Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Tests, lost 2-1 to South Africa in the ODIs, and shared a T20I series with South Africa after the final match was washed out.
