IPL 2026: Pat Cummins Wants Kuldeep Yadav in Sunrisers Hyderabad, Reports Reveal
Even though the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is a while away, trade discussions have begun ahead of the mini auction. While Sanju Samson moving to Chennai Super Kings has been the most talked about rumour, another one is emerging as fans' attention shifts to Kuldeep Yadav moving to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Sunrisers Hyderabad are on the lookout for a quality spinner, and reports from News24 suggest that captain Pat Cummins has his eyes on Delhi Capitals’ Kuldeep Yadav. It’s said that Cummins even spoke to Kuldeep last season about a possible move to the Orange Army. Spin was SRH’s biggest weakness last season, and as they prepare for the 2026 IPL, the team is keen to strengthen that area while chasing their dream of winning the title.
Pat Cummins Eyes Kuldeep Yadav to Strengthen SRH’s Spin Attack for IPL 2026
Last season, SRH had two spinners, Rahul Chahar and Zeeshan Ansari. Ansari impressed everyone with his performances, but Chahar couldn’t take many wickets. The team clearly missed a proven match-winner in the spin department, and signing Kuldeep Yadav could fix that problem.
Kuldeep is known for taking wickets regularly and troubling batters with his variations. He took 15 wickets last season and 16 in the one before that for Delhi Capitals.
The 30-year-old is an experienced spinner, having been playing in the IPL since the 2016 season. He has ample experience in the league, and this was something the SRH side lacked last season, as Ansari, despite being good, lacked the experience at the biggest stage. Hence, if Cummins and SRH go after Kuldeep, it would solve their biggest headache ahead of the next season.
