IPL 2026 Mega Swap: BCCI to Approve Sanju Samson, Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran Trade Soon
The trade between Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja is almost done but is waiting for BCCI approval. CSK have agreed to send Jadeja and Sam Curran in exchange for the Kerala wicketkeeper-batter before the IPL 2026 auction. If BCCI approves, this will be the third trade, after Shardul Thakur and Sherfane Rutherford moved to MI from LSG and GT.
According to The Hindu, the trade deal between RR and CSK is waiting for final approval from the BCCI. Both teams have already submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) and have the agreement of all three players. Samson and Jadeja were retained by RR and CSK for ₹18 crore each before the IPL 2025 mega auction, while Curran was bought for ₹2.40 crore.
RR Initially Demanded Dewald Brevis in Samson-Jadeja-Curran Trade Talks
The report also says that CSK’s management, including MS Dhoni, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, and coach Stephen Fleming, will meet on Friday to decide the retentions for IPL 2026. The deadline to finalize retentions is November 15 at 5 PM, and the IPL 2026 auction will take place in Abu Dhabi on December 16.
Before adding Curran to the trade with Samson and Jadeja, RR had wanted young Dewald Brevis included. But CSK refused to let go of their key batter, who joined as a mid-season replacement in IPL 2025 and made an immediate impact.
Earlier reports had also said CSK were planning to release Deepak Hooda, Vijay Shankar, and Sam Curran. CSK ended IPL 2025 at the bottom of the points table for the first time in their history.
