IPL 2026: KL Rahul to Open the Batting for Delhi Capitals in Indian Premier League

KL Rahul is expected to open the batting for Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2026 season. The 33-year-old cricketer will also be the wicketkeeper for the team. In the previous season, we saw KL Rahul batting in the middle order. But the Delhi Capitals opener Jake Fraser-McGurk failed to score runs in the power play. Therefore, the team decided to promote KL Rahul to the top order.

KL Rahul had begun the season by batting at No.4. After playing 11 matches for the team, KL Rahul was sent to open the batting. The move has been a success for the Delhi Capitals. KL Rahul scored an unbeaten 112 off 65 balls against the Gujarat Titans. But the Delhi Capitals lost the game as the team led by Shubman Gill chased the 200-run target without losing a wicket.

Axar Patel, the captain of Delhi Capitals , will also join them soon for practice camps. The Delhi Capitals also bought some good players in the auction. They have bought David Miller and Ben Duckett. They have also bought bowlers Auqib Nabi, Lungi Ngidi, and Kyle Jamieson.

The Delhi Capitals had a good start last season, but they lost his form after losing to the Mumbai Indians. They finally finished fifth in the IPL 2025. With good Indian players in the team, good overseas recruits, and good spin bowlers like Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav, the Delhi Capitals are hoping to win their first-ever IPL trophy this season.
