IPL 2025: Updated Orange and Purple Cap standings after the GT vs MI match

Gujarat Titans secured their first win of IPL 2025 with a solid 36-run victory over Mumbai Indians in the ninth match of the tournament. Sai Sudharsan played a crucial role with the bat, scoring 63 runs, which helped Gujarat put up a strong total of 196. Mumbai Indians, in response, could not chase it down and were bowled out for 160.

GT is now in fourth place on the points table with two points from two games, while MI is at ninth place after losing both their matches.

LSG's Nicholas Pooran is still leading the run-scoring chart with 145 runs at a blazing strike rate of 258.93. Sai Sudharsan has climbed to the second spot with 137 runs, averaging 68.50 and striking at 167.07. With Sudharsan’s rise, the others have moved down a place in the rankings.

Purple Cap standings

Whereas, on the purple cap charts, Noor Ahmad is the current leader with seven wickets in just two matches. Shardul Thakur, Josh Hazlewood, and Khaleel Ahmad remain stationed at second, third, and fourth, respectively. Sai Kishore, who was in fifth position before this game, continues to remain at that position with four wickets, as he picked one in this encounter while having an economy of 8.37.
