IPL 2025: Kolkata Knight Riders Playing XI against Punjab Kings | PBKS vs KKR
Kolkata Knight Riders, the defending champions of the Indian Premier League, is all set to play their next match of the season against Punjab Kings. Punjab has been performing exceptionally well this season and KKR is also coming off a big victory against Chennai Super Kings. KKR will be looking to get two more points and boost their net run rate on the points table in the next match against Punjab Kings and this article will discuss their expected playing XI for the upcoming match.
KKR started their season with a major defeat against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the inaugural match of the season, but later, the team won and lost 3-3 matches. The team has won three matches so far against Rajasthan, Hyderabad, and Chennai Super Kings while losing three matches to RCB, MI and LSG. The team is currently in fourth position in the points table with 6 points from 6 matches.

Top Order
For the top order, KKR will have West Indian all-rounder Sunil Narine and South African wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock as the openers. Middle Order
KKR will have a relatively inexperienced middle order. Venkatesh Iyer, who was acquired for a whopping 23 crore, will bat at no. 4, while Angkrish Raghuwanshi, Rinku Singh, and Ramandeep Singh will also join at no. 5, 6, and 7. Andre Russell will also bat in the lower middle order.
Bowlers
For the bowling attack, KKR will have a strong spin attack led by Sunil Narine and India's current top spinner, Varun Chakravarthy. Both the bowlers have performed fairly well so far. While on the fast bowling side, the team is expected to have Spencer Johnson as the overseas pace option, replacing Moeen Ali from the last match.
