IPL 2025 Highlights, CSK vs DC: Delhi Capitals defeat Chennai Super Kings by 25 runs to claim the top spot in the standings

Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel won the toss and chose to bat first. KL Rahul was the top scorer for Delhi, playing an excellent knock of 77 runs, which helped the team set a target of 184 runs in 20 overs for Chennai. CSK had a poor start in their run chase, losing three wickets, Rachin Ravindra, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Devon Conway, within the first six overs. After that, Delhi took full control of the match. The result favored Delhi Capitals, who won the game by 25 runs, marking a hat-trick of wins under Axar Patel’s captaincy.

Delhi's First Win at Chepauk in 15 Years

Delhi Capitals had last won a match at Chepauk during the 2010 IPL season. Since then, in every encounter between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals at this venue till the 2024 season, CSK had come out on top. But this year, Delhi looks like a much stronger side from the very beginning of the season. That’s why they’ve managed to win three matches in a row so far. With this win at Chepauk, Delhi finally broke their long losing streak at this ground.
