Inzamam-ul-Haq Urges IPL Boycott, Slams BCCI Over Champions Trophy Controversy

Inzamam-ul-Haq Urges IPL Boycott, Slams BCCI Over Champions Trophy ControversyMore people are feeling upset and angry with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Former players are criticizing the powerful cricket board for different reasons. The biggest issue is that the BCCI made a deal with the International Cricket Board (ICC) for the India cricket team to play all their ICC Champions Trophy matches in Dubai.

This led experts to say that Team India has an unfair advantage. Unlike other teams, they don’t have to travel and get to play on the same pitch for the whole tournament. While this does help them, people often forget that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) agreed to BCCI’s plan.

It doesn’t look good. Pakistan, the host team, had to fly to Dubai for a match, but that was part of the deal. Recently, we also found out that both Australia and South Africa have to travel to Dubai, as one of them will play against Team India in the first semifinal of the ICC Champions Trophy. The team that plays India will stay, while the other will fly back to Lahore for the second semifinal.

Former Pakistan star Saqlain Mushtaq openly said that the BCCI should be taught a lesson for making everything revolve around them. Now, another Pakistani legend has spoken up. Inzamam-ul-Haq, instead of talking about the ICC Champions Trophy issue, said that other cricket boards should stop sending their players to the Indian Premier League (IPL) since the BCCI doesn’t allow Indian cricketers to play in their leagues.

“Forget about the Champions Trophy for now. Top players play in the IPL, but Indian players don’t play in other leagues. Other boards should stop sending their players to the IPL. If you (BCCI) don’t release your players for other leagues, then other boards should take a stand,” Inzamam said during an appearance on a Pakistani TV channel.
