Indian Cricketer Yash Dayal Receives Court Relief in Sexual Exploitation Case

The Allahabad High Court has provided significant relief to Indian cricketer Yash Dayal by staying his arrest in a case involving allegations of sexual exploitation. Justices Siddhartha Varma and Anil Kumar delivered their verdict on Dayal’s petition, stating that he shall not be arrested until the next hearing or until the police report is filed. The court has also directed the state counsel to file a counter-affidavit and notified the woman involved to do the same.

The First Information Report (FIR) against Yash Dayal, a pacer for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, was registered on July 6 at the Indirapuram police station. The woman accused Dayal of exploiting her under the pretext of marriage. According to her, she met Dayal five years ago, and he promised to marry her. She also claimed to have discovered his relationships with other women.

The court noted that it is apparent the two parties were in a relationship for five years. It is difficult to determine whether there was a genuine promise of marriage or if it was a false one from the start with the intention of obtaining sexual consent.

Meanwhile, Yash Dayal played a crucial role in RCB’s maiden IPL trophy win in 2025. He took key wickets during the season and was highly praised by captain Rajat Patidar and star batter Virat Kohli for his outstanding performances.
