India vs Australia 3rd ODI 2025: Rohit Sharma’s Century, Virat Kohli Shine as India Win by 9 Wickets

India cruised to a comfortable 9-wicket victory over Australia in the final ODI of the series. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli showed their class once again, dismantling the Australian bowling attack with ease and guiding India to a dominant win.
Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. Harshit Rana registered his career best ODI figures of 4/39 with Washington Sundar bowling 10 overs for 2/44. Matt Renshaw scored his maiden ODI half century hitting 56 in 58 balls helping the hosts to 236 in 46.4 overs.
India started the chase on a brighter not. Shubman Gill (24 off 26) and Rohit Sharma adding 68 runs in the powerplay without losing a wicket. Gill was sent back by Josh Hazlewood right after the powerplay but afterwards it was the Rohit-Kohli show. Kohli got off the mark first ball after consecutive ducks in the series. Rohit started off with a flurry of boundaries and eased on the crease banking on the half century he scored in the 2nd ODI. He moved to another 50 off 63 deliveries with Kohli bringing his 70th ODI fifty off 56 balls.

Australia used 7 bowlers but no one could challenge this duo. It took just 105 deliveries for Rohit to move to his ton. The knock comprised of 13 fours and 3 sixes. Kohli remained unbeaten on 74 in 81 balls and surpassed Kumar Sangakkara to become the 2nd leading run scorer in the world (ODIs) - with only Sachin Tendulkar ahead of him.
The duo added 168 runs for the 2nd wicket and killed the chase early. The match was over in the 39th over, Kohli hitting the winning boundary over third man.
