India to Host Sri Lanka for 5-Match Women’s T20 Series After Bangladesh Tour Postponed

The BCCI has changed India’s women’s cricket team’s schedule. Instead of touring Bangladesh for white-ball matches, the team will now play a five-match T20 series at home against Sri Lanka. This will be the team’s first series after Harmanpreet Kaur and her players won the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup.
According to RevSportz, the T20I series will run from December 21 to 30 and will be held in two cities, Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram. The first two matches will take place at the ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, and the last three games will be played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
India to Host Sri Lanka for 5-Match Women’s T20 Series After Bangladesh Tour Gets Postponed
The BCCI had sent a letter to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) asking them to shift the series to a later date. Earlier in August, the men’s white-ball tour had also been pushed to 2026. The exact reason for India pulling out is still not clear, but the growing tension between the Indian and Bangladeshi governments might be one of the reasons.
The India vs Sri Lanka T20I series will now be the only series the Women in Blue play before the 2026 Women’s Premier League (WPL), which begins in early January. This series will also help the team start preparing for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, set to be held in England from June 12 to July 5.
