After losing five out of six matches on its India tour, England will now be playing for respect. England lost the first ODI after scoring 247 runs in the first innings. India chased the target in just 38 overs, losing just five wickets. Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer scored half-centuries in a match-winning partnership.

England has not batted well in this tour. In the name of Bazz-ball cricket, England has batted very averagely, losing wickets quickly while trying to play big shots.

This will be the last series to prepare for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 for both teams, as the tournament will start on 19th February with the match between Pakistan and New Zealand.

England’s Predicted XI for the second ODI

After losing the first ODI, England will be desperate to win the upcoming matches. In the first ODI at the top order, we did see some performances from batters like Jos Butler and Jacob Bethell, who scored half-centuries, but the middle order failed to capitalise on the start, which resulted in a relatively low total. Along with the batting fixes, pacers like Jofra Archer and Saqib Mahmood also need to step up their game.
