“I’ll send the cops” – Rajat Patidar Calls Police After Chhattisgarh Boys Get His Old Number, Receives Calls from Kohli and ABD

“I’ll send the cops” – Rajat Patidar Calls Police After Chhattisgarh Boys Get His Old Number, Man Receives Calls from Kohli and AB de VilliersA grocery shop owner in Chhattisgarh's Gariaband district, Manish, found himself on the contact lists of cricketing legends like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers due to a strange mix-up that led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar to involve the police. According to an NDTV report, Manish and his friend Khemraj bought a new SIM card and activated it with WhatsApp. Initially, they noticed an image of Patidar on the app but didn't think much of it. However, things took an unexpected turn when Manish started receiving calls from Kohli and de Villiers, who were trying to reach Patidar.

According to report, it turned out that the number Manish received was Rajat Patidar's old number, which had been deactivated after 90 days of inactivity and was then given to Manish by the mobile operator. After realizing the mix-up, Patidar himself called Manish and Khemraj, but they didn’t believe it was really him. They ended up giving a funny reply, still unsure if it was truly the star cricketer.

“Bhai, I’m Rajat Patidar. That number is mine, please return it," the RCB skipper told the two friends.

“And we’re MS Dhoni," they replied.

When Patidar heard they didn’t believe him, he jokingly said, “Okay, I’ll send the cops.” That quickly made things more serious. Within ten minutes, the local police showed up at Manish’s house to sort things out. Realizing it was getting serious, Manish and Khemraj agreed to hand the SIM card back to its rightful owner without any further trouble.

“I got to speak to Kohli because of a wrong number. My life’s goal is complete,” Khemraj told the TV channel.

In June earlier this year, Patidar reached a career high when he led RCB to their first-ever Indian Premier League title in his debut season as captain. They won the final against Punjab Kings. In the 2025 IPL season, Patidar scored 312 runs in 15 matches at an average of 24 and a strike rate of 143.78, including two half-centuries. He finished аs the third-highest run-scorer for RCB, behind Virаt Kohli (657) and Phil Salt (403).
