ICC Men's Test Rankings Update: Bumrah Retains No. 1 Spot, Pant Climbs Into Top 6

ICC Men's Test Rankings Update: Bumrah Retains No. 1 Spot, Pant Climbs Into Top 6Rishabh Pant climbed to No. 6 in the ICC Test rankings after his performance in the first Test of the five-match series against England. Even though his brilliant innings (134 and 118) came in a match India lost, they were good enough to earn him a place in the spotlight. Pant now has a chance to reach his career-best ranking of No. 5, or go even higher, if he continues to play the way he did in the current Test at Edgbaston.

Pant, Duckett, and Head Rise in Rankings

Rishabh Pant has reached a new personal best with an overall rating of 801 points as of July 2, his highest ever. In the same match at Leeds, Ben Duckett impressed with scores of 62 and 149, earning him the Player of the Match award. His strong performance pushed his rating up to a career-high of 787 points, helping him hold on to his eighth spot in the rankings.

Travis Head made good progress, climbing up to 10th place after scoring 59 and 61 in the match against the West Indies in Barbados. Australia won that game comfortably by 159 runs.

Bumrah Retains No. 1 Spot After Headingley Heroics

Jasprit Bumrah kept his number one ranking after a brilliant performance in the first Test at Headingley. He led India’s bowling attack and took five wickets, playing a key role in the match. Bumrah has been given a rest for the second Test at Edgbaston.

Elsewhere, Josh Hazlewood and Jaydon Seales moved one place up to No. 4 and No. 9, respectively, while Kagiso Rabada retained his position. Wiaan Mulder and Corbin Bosch made a strong start as new all-rounders for South Africa. Both played key roles in their first match against Zimbabwe, helping the team with both bat and ball. Their efforts were a big part of South Africa's huge 328-run victory in Bulawayo.

Ravindra Jadeja remains at the top of the list, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz is just below him.
