[ Poll: lyagkRZp ]

Yashasvi Jaiswal has made a strong return to the top five of the ICC Test batting rankings after scoring 175 runs in the first innings of the second Test against the West Indies last week.

The left-hander has moved up two spots to fifth place, going past Temba Bavuma and Kamindu Mendis, and now has 791 rating points. Meanwhile, even though Joe Root hasn’t played a Test since August, he still holds the top spot in the rankings with 908 points. As for Jaiswal, the left-hander finished as the leading run-getter of the series against the West Indies with 219 runs in three innings at an average of 73.

The second-highest run-scorer KL Rahul also jumped two places in the latest rankings to finish on 33rd after amassing 196 runs in the recently concluded Test series.

Kuldeep Yadav climbs seven spots

Kuldeep Yadav has moved up seven spots in the rankings after his standout performance in the Delhi Test, where he took eight wickets and was named player of the match. He is now 14th among bowlers with his career-best rating of 689 points. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah has lost three rating points but still holds the top spot in Test rankings with 882 points. He is the only Indian in the top 10, while Mohammed Siraj sits at 12th.

West Indies batsman Shai Hope has made a huge jump in the latest ICC Test rankings, moving up 34 spots after scoring his first century in eight years during the Delhi Test. He is now ranked 66th with 446 rating points. His teammate John Campbell has also improved, climbing six places to 68th with 440 points.
