ICC Annual Rankings 2025: India Tops ODIs & T20Is, Australia Rule Tests

ICC Annual Rankings 2025: India Tops ODIs & T20Is, Australia Rule TestsTeam India, under Rohit Sharma, have slipped to fourth in the ICC’s Test rankings as of May 5. On the bright side, they still sit at No. 1 in both ODIs and T20Is, thanks to their strong white-ball performance. The updated system gives full weight to matches since May 2024 and half weight to those played between May 2022 and May 2024.

India’s ODI rating has gone up from 122 to 124 after lifting the Champions Trophy. In T20Is, Australia have chipped away at India’s lead bringing it down to just nine points.

Australia remains the benchmark in Test cricket with a top rating of 126 points. England, despite missing out on the World Test Championship final have had a solid year winning three of their four-Test series and have climbed past South Africa and India to sit second with 113 points.

The rest of the top ten in Tests stayed the same: New Zealand are fifth, followed by Sri Lanka, Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Zimbabwe.

Sri Lanka and Pakistan Show Gains; South Africa Drop to Sixth

In ODIs, New Zealand moved up to second after finishing runners‑up in the Champions Trophy, bumping Australia to third. Sri Lanka jumped to fourth with a five‑point boost for their strong home form, while Pakistan gained one point despite an early exit. South Africa slipped four points to sixth. Afghanistan overtook England for eighth with a four‑point rise. Bangladesh dropped four points to sit tenth with West Indies, who picked up five points just above them.

On the T20I ladder, it’s India at the top, then Australia, England, New Zealand, West Indies, and South Africa. Sri Lanka edged past Pakistan and are now seven points ahead of them in seventh. Bangladesh and Afghanistan round out the top ten.
