“I Want to Play and Win the 2027 World Cup”: Rohit Sharma
Former India captain Rohit Sharma has said that he not only wants to play in the 2027 ODI World Cup but also win it. While talking to a child from the Make-A-Wish foundation, Rohit made a heartfelt promise, saying he is determined to take part in the 2027 World Cup and give his best to help India win the trophy that has so far eluded him.
The moment was caught on video, where a young fan asked Rohit if he would still be playing in the next World Cup. Smiling, Rohit didn’t hesitate and said he was fully determined to be there aiming to bring the prized trophy home to India. This interaction happened during his visit to the Make-A-Wish foundation in Mumbai in September.

After India’s heartbreaking 2023 World Cup final loss to Australia, 38-year-old Rohit Sharma found himself at the center of debates surrounding his ODI future. Earlier this year, he announced his retirement from Test cricket.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are now preparing for their first international series since leading India to the Champions Trophy win in March. The three-match ODI series in Australia marks a key starting point for India’s 2027 World Cup journey. Rohit Sharma looks rejuvenated ahead of the tour after training under former assistant coach Abhishek Nayar and reportedly shedding around 10 kilograms. With the series opening in Perth on October 19, all eyes will be on him.
